A new renaissance for Europe

The National Research Council of Italy (Cnr), the Agency for the Promotion of European Research (Apre) and the Consortium for Innovation and Technology Transfer in Emilia-Romagna (Aster) are organizing, in the context of the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the international conference 'Let’s 2014, Leading Enabling Technologies for Societal Challenges', taking place in Bologna on September 29th–October 1st. It will be held under the Patronage of the Ministry of Education, University and Research, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and supported by European Union Funding for Research and Innovation.

It will focus on the perspective of nanotechnologies, advanced materials, advanced manufacturing, processing and biotechnology (Nmpb) and will point out how the industrial system should be able to develop the industry’s ability to integrate - through a systemic approach - creativity, culture, knowledge and competitiveness. Experts will discuss on how the Nmpb programme – with a budget of 992 M€ for 7 years - can contribute to improving the European citizens’ quality of life, feeding the European economy and leading Europe to a new renaissance.

Let’s 2014 will bring together more than 1.000 delegates from all over the world to discuss how Europe can support the growth and the creation of new jobs and face societal challenges through new products, processes and services, creating opportunities for European actors. It will propose sessions with 130 international speakers, networking events, matchmaking meetings, exhibits, visits to world class companies. The programme of the sessions and the registration facilities are available at www.lets2014.eu.
