Although, most likely, not comparable to the main global environmental problems, the loss of biodiversity in agroecosystems is also a very important problem in industrialized countries as well as in emergent ones. The workshop is organized by Cnr Institute of applied mathematics and information technology (Imati) and will take place on February 24 -25, 2011 in Milano (Via Bassini 15- Imati headquarter). The workshop is a component of the project Cycas-Med-Crop yield and climate change impacts on agriculture: adaptation strategies to desertification processes in the Mediterranean areas funded by Milano per la tutela della biodiversità 2008. Institute of biometeorology (Cnr-Ibimet, Sassari), and Centre régional de la Recherche agronomique de Settat (Crra-Maroc) were the main partners.
The seminar will consider several issues of biodiversity in agroecosystems, like biodiversity and landscape, genetic biodiversity, biodiversity and climate change, agricultural biodiversity, pests, and so on. In particular, statistical methods for ecological applications will be discussed.
