Join in for a summer of science!

The summer has always been a great time for new adventures, travelling and meeting people. But how often do you get the chance to make it a once-in-a-lifetime experience?

That's why this year the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (Esrf) and the Institut Laue-Langevin (Ill) have teamed up with the University Joseph Fourier (Ujf) in Grenoble to offer a  Summer Bachelor Programme, from 3rd June to 13th July.

The six-week course provides a unique opportunity to study physics hands-on in an iconic scientific environment. Alexandre Simionovici, a long-standing user of the Esrf, and professor of physics at Ujf, will host the lectures on large scale facilities and how synchrotron radiation and neutrons can be used in research.

In parallel to the science programme, tutorials, laboratory work and site visits, you'll be learning French, meeting students of the same age from all across Europe and tasting the cultural and great outdoor scenes that Grenoble has to offer.

The summer programme is open to students in their 2nd to 4th year of university at a price of 500€ plus accommodation and transport while 4 scholarships will be offered to the best students.

The deadline for applications is 22nd March 2013.
