Canada-Italy: collaboration for Arctic

The Embassy of Italy (whose scientific attaché, Emanuele Fiore, is a Cnr researcher) and the Canadian Polar Commission are organizing the seminar 'Canada-Italy: Arctic science and technology' to be held on 22 October at Ottawa Convention Centre.

These two countries have long-standing relations and historic cooperation and partnerships in areas of culture, trade, investment and science & technology. The purpose of this one-day workshop will be to share information on Arctic knowledge and to mutually identify beneficial areas of future collaboration between Canadian and Italian organizations and experts, including Canadian northern organizations and institutions - in the context of the recent launch of the European Union Research and Innovation Programme (EU Horizon 2020).
In particular the workshop will focus on technology development and transfer; earth observation and sensing technologies; atmosphere; coastal and marine environments.
