The National Research Council (Cnr) in collaboration with the Agency for the Promotion of European Research (Apre), will arrange, in the framework of the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the international Conference 'Science, Innovation and Society: achieving responsible research and innovation' taking place in Rome on November 19-21.
The Conference aims at debating on how responsible research innovation can better engage society in research and innovation activities throughout the six following key areas: public engagement; gender equality; science education; ethics; open science; governance.
Six workshops sessions, exhibition areas, social and brokerage events will be carried out during the Conference with the participation of important stakeholders.
Participants will also have the chance to take part in various events: 'The Art&Innovation Exhibition' will be opened in the first day of the conference and will run, open to the public at large, for two weeks. The exhibition will explore the interplay between science, art and society.
'A Networking Event' will be held with the objective of encouraging previous and future clients/applicants to participate, by providing information about the possibilities existing under the new Horizon 2020 Work Programme 2014-2015 for science with and for society, sharing project ideas and finding appropriate partners.
Finally 'A Market Place' for projects will be set up, in which project activities, results and best practices will be displayed in order to give projects added visibility.
