Proteins shine a brighter light on cellular processes

A new cyan fluorescent protein will make cellular imaging more sensitive. The invention has been made by an international team including Cnrs-Cea-Université Joseph Fourier, the Universities of Amsterdam and Oxford and European Synchrotron Radiation Facility

Cnr-Ibp has hosted the conference 'A focus on the future of cancer research in Europe'. Julio E. Celis, of the European Cancer Organization (Ecco) Policy Committee, pointed out that although Europe has well-organized clinical and basic cancer centres, still lacks a strategy to fill the gap between basic disciplines and clinical research in the health area

Venice hasn't stopped sinking after all

New measurements carried on by American scientists in collaboration with Italy's Tele-Rilevamento Europa reveal that the historic city continues to slowly sink, and even to tilt slightly to the east. The results are published in Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems
